Unlike other materials used to make bamboo fiber sheets, bamboo is an eco-friendly alternative to most other materials used to manufacture bed linens. Bamboo linen manufactured with bamboo is 100% organically grown, dramatically helping maintain our fragile planet’s health.

Eco Friendly Bamboo Fiber Sheets

Bamboo is the Fastest Growing plant on Earth

According to the Guinness World Book of Records, bamboo is the fastest growing plant on Earth. Bamboo grows up to 3 feet per day, reaching a maximum height of almost 100 feet. This rapid growth cycle increases the efficiency of photosynthesis as well as losing less water than other plants. Fast-growing bamboo fibers help to make bamboo fiber sheets environmentally friendly.

Interestingly, bamboo requires one-third the amount of water that cotton does. What’s more, bamboo requires no fertilizers or pesticides to grow. In contrast, commercially grown cotton accounts for 25% of all global pesticide sales and 12% of global chemical fertilizer sales.

Bamboo fiber sheets help maintain soil conservation

When harvesting bamboo, the stalk is not pulled out by the root. Instead, it is cut at harvest, allowing the stalks to re-grow from the existing core. Cutting the stem rather than pulling makes bamboo an excellent plant for soil conservation.

This cutting technique helps the soil maintain its existing eco-structure of beneficial bacteria and nutrients that the plant needs to grow. On the other hand, commercially grown cotton is replanted after each year and contributes to soil erosion, necessitating chemical fertilization.

Bamboo releases more oxygen than other Plants

Bamboo releases 35% more oxygen and retains five times the volume of greenhouse gasses as the equivalent number of trees. We all know the importance of oxygen. The faster and more extensive the plant grows, the more oxygen it releases.

Additionally, it takes in more carbon dioxide than other plants providing a smaller carbon footprint. A smaller carbon footprint helps to reduce greenhouse emissions that can damage our environment. By the way, this carbon is the same that is produced by machinery using fossil fuels.

How can bamboo fiber sheets help our environment

Bamboo is 100% organically grown. It naturally decomposes when disposed helping to reduce the amount of pollution in our oceans and land. Waste that is not biodegradable eventually leaches into our food supply, which can cause disease and other health issues.

After being cut from the stalk, bamboo is spun into yarns with no harsh chemical treatment. The plant uses natural enzymes to break the bamboo walls into a pulp. The pulp is then mechanically combed out, spun into yarn, and weaved into the best linen available on this planet.

Bamboo sheets, manufactured with 100% organically grown bamboo, are an eco-friendly alternative to traditional bed sheets that pollute and compromise our environment. Happy Dreams!
