FAQs

A:Both terms are virtually interchangeable and mean ‘the process’ of breaking down the bamboo stalk into a fiber.  Because the end fiber is indistinguishable from other wood pulps (ie; eucalyptus, beech wood, pine, etc) the Federal Trade Commission requires that it be called either viscose, or rayon from bamboo. We've chosen to use both words in describing our fabric so that customers become familiar with either term.

A:  Yes, we highly recommended you wash the bamboo sheets and duvet covers before use. Our linens have been oversized to allow for the first-time shrinkage that occurs when you wash and dry them. Bamboo can shrink up to 4% at the first wash, and you may think the Fitted Sheet is too big if you don't wash them first. Zip the Duvet closed prior to washing to maintain the integrity of the zipper. The buttoned duvets have an extra button sewn inside the bottom of the duvet. This allows you to replace any that fall off or are lost.

A:  Our sheets and towel lines are made responsibly at some of the largest home textile factories located in India and China. The decision has been made to manufacture all products in India by the summer of 2021. The process of converting a bamboo stalk into a fiber has been patented by a Chinese company. We use these patented yarns in the production of our entire line of bamboo linens, which are incredibly soft and silky.

A:We recommend a mild liquid detergent like Ecos, Mrs. Myers, Woolite, Seventh Generation, ECover, Aspen Clean, or Kirkland Ultra Clean. We do not recommend bleach, fabric softeners, washer balls or dryer sheets/balls. We’ve noticed that harsher detergents can break down the fibers faster, shortening the lifespan of the linens and/or creating tearing at the seams. Its not recommended to use any detergents that say 'Tough on Stains' as they'll be too harsh on fine fabrics.

A: The inherent quality of bamboo fibers is that they resist bacteria, mildew and odors. Therefore, your towels won’t smell like mildew, even when you forget to take a wet load out of the washer all day. You can use-hang-reuse your towels for many days and never have a smell.

A: Eco-melange towels are made with a blend of bamboo and cotton threads. The unique waterless coloring method makes the colors deep and true. Melange is also bleachable and BPO safe. The two-tone look is created by twisting White cotton threads around Black bamboo threads to create the two-tone loops.  They're super plush and absorbent, as well as mildew and odor resistant.

A: The Hooded Towel should fit your child from a newborn to a 40 pound child, or to about 6 years of age. Although they can use the towel as long as it still fits!  Your child can wrap themselves up nicely in the wide wings of the towel. They'll stay warmer when they get out of the tub, because it's such a plush and absorbent towel.  The Baby Washcloths can be used for many purposes. Some uses are wiping hands or face, as a burp cloth, or cleaning up spills.

Its important to us that our factories annually pass a stringent 25-point review process, which is called a Social Responsibility Audit. Many US retailers require this certification. It ensures there is no child labor working within our factories, and that the workers are not under-paid or over-worked. Safeguards are put in place to protect the environment, and to ensure their health and safety. We're proud to be producing our linens in such responsible factories that take great care of their workers!

A: Use as a gym towel, pool towel, beach towel, all ideal places for its use, as Bamboo Towels are naturally resistant to bacteria and odors, so you can bathe safe and clean with bamboo. Additionally, they are great for kid’s athletic bags, motor homes, boats and by the pool, bamboo naturally provides UV protection.

A: If your Bamboo towel is snagged, simply cut the snag off with sharp scissors, and it won’t continue to snag. Best practice for laundering is not to wash them with things that have zippers, Velcro, or hooks. This will reduce snagging.

A: Yes, you can. If they are a little crisp once dried, you can simply toss them in the dryer for 5-10 minutes and they'll fluff back to softness again.

A: Bamboo towels are much more gentle on hair than synthetic or cotton towels. Bamboo towels are softer, gentler, more absorbent, preventing hair damage and skin irritations. Bamboo Towels absorb water 3x better than cotton towels, so hair dries quickly and with minimal damage.

A:  There are many uses for the Coverlet! It can be folded at the foot of the bed, ready to pull up on a chilly night. Or it can be used as a lightweight bedspread in the summer, when a down comforter is too hot.  You can let it hang loose at the sides of the bed, or tuck it into the mattress for a finished look. Some people even use them on the sofa when they want a ‘blanket’ to cover two people during movie-watching.

A: Rayon from Bamboo is best cared for by washing in cold or warm water with an eco-friendly liquid detergent, and drying on low to medium heat. Proper washing will extend the life; you can expect to get 5-6+ years from your Coverlet with proper laundering.  Bamboo fabrics have natural bacteria-resistance so if you’re used to using bleach to kill any bacteria, there is no need to do so with bamboo. A great benefit for your health and the environment! You can even iron on high heat and with steam, it will iron beautifully.

Recommended laundry detergents are:  Ecos, Seventh Generation, Meyer's Clean Act, Woolite, Aspen Clean. But if you have a liquid detergent that you like, it will work just fine.

A:  A Duvet Bed Set is for those that don’t prefer to use a Flat Sheet, and just want the simplicity of a Fitted Sheet with a Duvet Cover; we have created the perfect set for you!  Why pay for a flat sheet when you don’t use one?  We’ve built the set with simply a Fitted Sheet, a Duvet Cover and 2 Pillowcases.  Sleep easier with no flat sheet twisting around your legs!

A: melange Duvet Covers and Sheet sets are made from a unique waterless coloring method. This makes the colors rich and true, yet bleachable.  The twisting of the White cotton threads with the Black bamboo threads is what creates the textured look.  The fabric is also BPO safe, so retinal creams will not stain the linens. The melange Duvet Cover and Sheet Sets are very comfy and cozy, because of the twill weave and soft feel.

A: Yes, it will. We've tried to make the dimensions universal to fit both a King, a Cal King, and a Split King bed. Although a Cal-King comforter size is a little longer and a little more narrow, it should fit the duvet nicely. You may just have a bit of extra fabric draping on the sides of the bed, but it will still fit fine.

A: You can use a down or poly-fil comforter, a blanket, quilt or afghan. In the summer some people like to just insert our lightweight blanket, and in the winter they insert a thick down comforter. But anything you prefer will work just fine!

A: The duvets with zippers do not, but our new Buttoned Duvets do. We are listening to our customers feedback and this has been requested, so we’ve added ties in summer 2021.  With the zippered duvets (which we are phasing out by 2022) to re-center your comforter; simply grab the end of the duvet cover with the comforter positions about 6” from the foot, and give it a number of good hard shakes. This should reposition the comforter to fill the duvet again

A: Wash the swaddle the same way you’d wash a light knit. We recommend using an eco-friendly liquid detergent, in warm water and medium heat. We don't recommend laundering the swaddle with any Velcro, zipper or hooked clothing. Those items can snag the weave.

We recommend the following detergents: Ecos, Seventh Generation, Meyer's Clean Act, Aspen Clean and Woolite.

A: Bamboo is best cared for by washing in warm water with an eco-friendly liquid detergent, and drying on medium heat. Proper washing will extend the towel's life, and can be used until your child outgrows it!  The towel can be hung to dry by using the hood as the hanger. It will dry overnight and be ready for the next day's use.  Bamboo is naturally odor and mildew resistant.

We recommend the following detergents: Ecos, Seventh Generation, Meyer's Clean Act, Woolite, Aspen Clean and Kirkland Brand Ultimate Clean. But you may also use any liquid detergent that you prefer.

A: Spray Oxy Clean or a chlorine-free stain remover directly onto the stain and then launder as usual. You can also use a spot cleaner on the stain, then let it soak for 10 minutes before laundering. If the stain does not come out in the wash, re-spot the stain and launder again, before you dry.
